Positive behaviour for learning

Over the past six months the school behaviour team have been reviewing our school behaviour policy.

The Athelstane behaviour policy is well received by the majority of students. Teachers spend time discussing positive behaviours. We set high expectations for student behaviour. We also believe in keeping parents informed if students display persistent inappropriate behaviour. In this case, you will receive a letter.

Students who demonstrate and follow the school expectations receive ticks. Ticks can be given by the classroom teacher, support teachers, community language teachers, teachers on playground duty, student learning support officers, office staff, assistant principals and the principal.

Once the student has received 5 ticks this transfers into an ace. Classroom teachers record each student's progress on the class ace chart.
