Compass program

Compass - find your way to higher education.

The University of Sydney's compass program aims to encourage primary and secondary students from low-socieconomic backgrounds to participate in higher education.  The key goal of the project is to build academic attainment and aspiration for students and to provide them with a greater awareness of higher education opportunities.

Sydney university supports Athelstane Public School by providing learning opportunities for students and professional learning for teachers.

The compass program has seen our students involved in:

  • University taster days
  • stop motion animation
  • film production
  • visits to the various museums at Sydney university
  • experience performances at the Seymour centre
  • occupational therapy intervention program
  • word up multi-literature program.

We are very fortunate to have this continued association with Sydney university. For more information about the compass program, visit the website.
